He was driving and got rear ended. He got the insurance information from the person that hit him. Since he (my friend) does not have a valid Texas drivers license, should the other person's insurance company pay for the repairs on my car?

Hi.....(not an Expert, ..just making comments on the post). Did your friend have your permission to drive your car? Did you know he didin't have a valid DL? You were asking if the OTHER driver should pay the damages to your car. USUALLY (in most states, anyway..) if someone rear-ends someone else, it's the automatically the driver's fault ( the one who DID the rear-ending). ( Thinking outloud..) If I knew someone didn't have a valid DL, I wouldn't have given permission, to that person, to drive my vehicle.

Yes, assuming they have a valid policy...NEVER a good idea to let an unlicensed driver behind the wheel of your car...I suppose no police were called to the scene right?Posted: Fri Jun 25, 2010 04:30 pm Post Subject: insurance
(Thinking outloud) that would be a mess if the other driver didin't have Insurance. Hopefully this is a 'lesson learned'.
