I'm being awarded SSDI and have a qulifiying child that will be entitled to benefits as well. I received LTD payment through a group employer plan. They are wanting me to pay them back. So, I would like to know if they take this from the payments that were due to my child as well.

Your group LTD policy probably has a provision known as "benefit integration" which is intended to prevent you from profiting by collecting the LTD benefit in addition to other sources of funding, such as SSDI. If you have, indeed, been overpaid, the insurer is entitled to a refund.

Your child's benefit is separate from yours, and cannot normally be "attacked" by a third party, such as your LTD carrier.

If you are unable to pay back all of the overpayment at this time, speak to the LTD carrier and work out a repayment plan.
