A LADY PUT HER CAR IN REVERSE BECAUSE SHE DID NOT WANT TO WAIT AT A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND TRIED TO DO A 3-POINT TURN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. SHE ADMITTED FAULT AND A POLICE REPORT WAS WRITTEN. THE COP ALSO ADVISED ME THAT SHE ADMITTED FAULT.
I WAS TOLD THAT NOW THAT THE CAR IS NOW GOING TO BE REPORTED AS BEING IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT (CARFAX) THAT THE VALUE WILL BE LOWERED AT LEAST $600-$700 IF I WANT TO SELL IT IN THE FUTURE (IT IS A BRAND NEW 09' SEDAN WE HAVE HAD FOR LESS THAN 3 MONTHS). THIS IS LOST REVENUE TO ME, THE OWNER, DUE TO THE AT-FAULT DRIVERS' STUPIDITY.
SO THEN WHEN THE FIELD ADJUSTER CALLS FROM THE AT-FAULT DRIVERS' CARRIER, I GUESS I SHOULD TELL THEM I EXPECT 2 CHECKS? ONE THAT GOES ALONG WITH THE APPRAISAL FOR THE REPAIRS AND ONE WRITTEN IN MY NAME FOR THE LOST VALUE OF THE CAR NOW THAT IT HAS BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT?

First... STOP YELLING!
I don't know of any insurance company that reports auto losses to Carfax. Insurance companies can/do report auto accidents to other sources and Carfax may be able to obtain this info from them.
Who told you the value would decrease by $600-$700?
You appear to have posted this same question twice:

See your other post for my response.

First of all the YELLING IS DUE TO MY COMPUTER SOMTIMES NOT CO-OPERATING!!!!!!!!!!!
Secondly, the dealership and the sales people over there told me that the depreciation value could be up to that much.
Also, as far as actually reporting a vehicle as being in an accident, I am unsure if it is the insurance company or the state due to this accident having the police on scene and a police report written-up. All you have to do is look up the VIN# on any type of website that offers vehicle accident checks, etc. and it will show the cars' history.
Yes, I did post twice but accidentally.

I was in an accident about 2 years ago... this does not show up. It's hit and miss. Please understand that Carfax is _not_ accurate at all. It will show some accidents but in many cases it won't. IMHO this company is really trying to push their product as people now realize that it's not very accurate.I don' really want to get into a DV debate as it's been beat to death on the board many times. You can use the search function to see that info. I mention in the other post that you can ask for DV but you may be required to support your claim of DV.

It really depends on the damage to your vehicle...what was damaged? what was the repair estimate? Was it to repair or replace what parts?
