My car was a total loss. Auto body shop wants me to buy the car back from the insurance company and sell it to him. Is this guy trying to scam me or what?

No he wants to rebuild it..if you can do it and make 100 bucks do it...ie-salvage buy back is 500, sell it to him for 600

I want to ask about auto body insurance facilities given by companies. I need to hire one auto body guy for my car, does my insurance company going to pay their expenses cause I have take car insurance at the same time when I bought it.
