If we have two medical insurance policies from two different companies, can we get benefit from both?

This post really belongs in the Health Insurance forum, but the answer is yes, as long as you don't try to collect more than 100% of the loss.
A policy provision known as "Coordination of Benefits" determines which of the two (or more) policies is PRIMARY, and that policy pays the claim first. If it does not cover the entire cost/loss, then the SECONDARY policy can be used to cover the unpaid expense. To the extent that policy would cover the claim if it were the primary policy, it will cover the claim as the secondary policy.
