Dear AMPM experts:
I drove my friend's car into his neighbor's car, resulting total of around $2000 damages for both, $500 and $1500 respectively. I was told his insurance, Ameriprise, would cover. But the company doesn't tell me how this will effect my friend's auto insurance premium. What could I do to avoid surcharge for his insurance premium?
This is his third accidents to his car and his premium has been increased from previous two accidents. I have Farmers and I live in California. Thank you in advance for your help.

Well, it seems from your post that your friend already doesn't have a good driving record. In addition, your friend has taken another "vicarious liability".
Now, that he's responsible for property and bodily injury, his rates would possibly go up again. I don't see a reason how you can help stop his rates even when you share his liability.

I'm sure his carrier is well aware of this trend. Now, he can't even come up with a good excuse that may have been possible initially.
