Can we dispute a beneficiary on a life insurance policy?

My aunt just passed on Saturday. My niece was to be sole beneficiary. My cousin had my aunt add her to the policy while she had dementia. If we can get the doctor to state she had dementia during the time she was added can we contest? I was told it's called an inter pleader action?
