My preexisting condition that has kept me from getting individual ins. is that I have had chronic depression that started being treated with med. 5yrs ago. I am on maintenance and very stabilized.I also take low dose of simvastatin from elevated cholesterol 3yrs. ago. That is why they said I would be turned down from the ins. I applied for a few months ago.

Well, I got an idea of what you're going through. I guess you're finding it quite expensive to maintain your current coverage under COBRA. Are you looking for cheaper coverage? Or do you want some other information?

Thanks for responding. Actually, I was looking for individual ins., I have been notified by a few brokers. What they have are PPO,s, and they are an insurance network not ins. co. Any idea if this is any good? Susand1418@comcast.net

PPOs and HMOs are perfectly good options. Plans vary considerably in terms of benefits and costs, so it requires homework on your part or on the part of an experienced agent.
