The law required that every car owner have car insurance

Not that this spammer ever reads this forum but this is 100% incorrect. There are a few states that _don't_ legally require insurance.

Car insurance is to protect you and other road users

Ouch... bad statement. It really only protects the insured. It will compensate other people for their loss but to think that it's intent is to protect other people is incorrect.

Because a few state don't legally require insurance does not mean my statement is incorrect.

My statement mean it insure people who insure their cars not every one,so my statement is correct.

Yes, it does.

So you are _really_ saying everyone who is required to have car insurance... needs to have car insurance? That is not what you said.

California is one of the states that has a FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY law when it comes to owning a motor vehicle. You can cover your liability to others with your own cash or with that of an insurance company's. Insurance is NOT mandatory.

If using your own cash, one needs to do one of two things: (1) place $30,000 in a specially segregated bank account and register the account with the DMV, or (2) post a $30,000 surety bond with the DMV. If the account is subsequently closed, or the bond is cancelled or revoked, the DMV will be notified and you will get a letter of non-compliance from the DMV, and your driving privilege could be revoked.

For most folks, it's less expensive, and more valuable, to obtain auto insurance as proof of FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.

Guys, I've just been informed that a few good spammers have been ruled out of our forums.

Insurance is certainly not mandatory as tcope has pointed out. Also, we have a great piece of information from Max. I'm sure all of us keep looking for such information.
