Did you take it to a shop recommended by the insurance company? If so, you need to let the insurance company know as they are guaranteeing the repairs as well as the shop. If you did not use a preferred shop, then you need to take it up with the shop directly.

No because either these repairs were already paid for so the cost to repair the vehicle would not increase or these repairs are probably going to cost very little so it won't put it over the total loss amount. This is one reason why 80% of the value is used to consider a vehicle a total loss and not 100%... it gives some room for supplemental costs.

the cost of repairs were $4300.00 and on kkb it was worth $6180.00. when i was hit i was slammed into the back of my 5th wheel camper which my husband was driving and i was at a complete stop at that time. i haven't signed any release yet for the truck to be paid for

Still don't know if it was taken to a repair shop recommended by the insurance company (one of their "preferred shops")

It does not sound like they are a "preferred body shop" of the insurance company. As such you will need to go over the repairs with the shop. If they were already paid for those repairs then they should make them right. If this is additional damage then they will contact the insurance company and let them know in case an additional payment is needed.
