Early last year in 2009, i let my friend borrow my car to handle some things while i was at work. She had some kids in the back seat and was rear-ended while driving. One of the kids suffered a minor neck pain but was fine one day later. We went after the insurance company that rear-ended her and they covered all the damages, rental, and medical.
Now more than one year later, i get a letter from my OWN insurance company stating that they are seeking medical reinbursement for that one kid that had the neck pain injury. I know that i let my friend borrow my car and i know she was uninsured, but would the whole uninsured-driver thing be the reason why my own insurance is after the medical reimbursement?? They didn't send me a due date for the payment by the way.... and what happens if i don't pay this??? If i have to, can i do separate payments on it??
BTW, my insurance is GEICO and the driver who was at-fault is AAA....
