LOSS OF CONSORTIUM

My husband was seriously injured over a year ago while riding his motorcycle, hit by a motorist who was 100% at fault. It has not been easy negotiating with at fault drivers insurance company. How do I file a claim for loss of consortium since my life as well as his has been turned upside down.

You contact them and let them know you will be submitting a demand. You then send them a letter outlining your loss and ask to be paid a certain amount.

Keep in mind that the release they would send to him for his injury _should_ have your name on it as well. If you sign that, you can no longer pursue LOC.

Well tcope, I don't think I've ever heard of any LOC. Would you care to explain such claims over here?

I just made it up because I did not want to type "Loss of Consortium"
