If I have continued to pay my premiums on an individual disability policy during a period of unemployment is the coverage still good?

As long as you are paying premiums, the policy should be in force. But you cannot be disabled and unemployed at the same time, at least from a benefits perspective. One or the other, only.
Generally speaking, a disability benefit will be greater than an unemployment benefit. But when unemployed, you have no income and a disability policy's benefit is normally determined in relation to one's income.
