Great advice . . . it's called CONCEALMENT. And the insurance codes of every state, as far a I know, allow an insurance company to VOID a contract on the basis of concealment, intentional or unintentional. So imagine what condition you would be in for not telling your insurance company about your teenage driver, then letting that child drive your car, and when they cause a collision, the insurance company, legally, tells you, sorry, we are VOIDING your policy back to the date you should have told us about your licensed child. NO COVERAGE.

Now, having said that, why is it that most auto insurance companies ask the question: Is there is anyone else living in your home over the age of 12?

Obviously Uche is not a native speaker of English, and the way auto insurance works in his/her part of the world may be different.

In most parts of America, the reason teenage drivers are more costly to insure is the fact that they don't have much experience behind the wheel. With more experience, no traffic citations, no at fault collisions, their rates will begin to drop, as early as their third year of driving.
