If I had a misdomeaner conviction 12 years ago for a bad check, will that prevent me from becoming a licensed claim adjuster in Texas?

I guess it's possible, but your application won't be processed till you're able to show a proper documentation and a complete review is done.

Your statement must disclose the circumstances that led to such outcome(s). Mention your age at that point of time. It will probably help if you can provide recommendation from a witness.

If your records are no more available with the court, then the court would probably need to provide a letter bearing the fact.

Highly unlikely to affect your ability to be licensed. UNLESS you fail to disclose the conviction in your license application.

Failure to disclose is a "DEATH PENALTY" offense -- you will die from starvation as the result of all those paychecks you will never get. It is worse than the offense itself.

You will be required to submit a copy of the "MINUTE ORDER" of the court, which indicates the disposition of the offense . . . fine, jail, or both. If you've been a decent citizen since then, it's water under the bridge (other than the need for disclosure).
