As I said she's 86, a non smoker or drinker, she has high blood pressure. She is 5'4" and weighs approx. 180. She eats a healthy diet and walks regularly. Her cholesterol count is good. Like I said, we just want a supplement to the $2,000.00 dollars she has on her policy. I'm afraid that that won't cover her if something happens.

:roll:About your only prospect for coverage is a "final expense" policy, which might offer up to $25,000. It will, however, not be inexpensive. Because the policies are "guaranteed issue, the fact that your mother is way outside "normal" weight guidelines for her height will not affect her ability to obtain the coverage. But it could affect the cost.

Thanks to Max for convening such vital information. Can you please show us through some stats on the same note? I'm sure figures do make things a lot easier to follow.

Sorry, Juanita, but I currently do not "do" final expense coverage (if I had people beating down my door to get it, I'm sure I would). But when height/weight falls outside the "normal" table an insurer uses, it can result in a 25% or greater increase to the base premium.
Maybe someone who actually markets final expense products can share some rate information here.
