I was involved in a minor fender bender in Philadelphia last month where I struck a vehicle from the rear while in a stopped position (I let off the brake and coasted into her vehicle). The female driver of the car and I got out and assessed the damage. She seemed fine at the time and didn't claim any injury. There was a small dent in her fender and my car was essentially unaffected. We exchanged insurance information and then went on our separate ways to work. We never took pictures of the scene, had police come to investigate, or got any witnesses information because of the minor nature of the accident.
Just today I was just told by my insurance carrier that she and another male person have injury claims against me from this accident, and also that the male person in the car was driving at the time. Not only did I never see another person in the car, but she was the driver!!! I'm scared because I have no evidence to substantiate my story. Is there any way she could make up enough evidence that would stand up in court? The issue is still being handled by my insurance company and I'm not being sued yet, but I'm worried about what kind of case she might be trying to put together. Please help!!!!

This is a potentially fraudulent claim!! You MUST demand that the insurance company treat it as such and report it as a suspected fraudulent claim to the Dept of Insurance for further criminal investigation.
If the insurance company does not want to listen to your demand, although it should, you can file a suspected fraudulent claim report on your own with the Dept of Insurance.

Did anything seem suspicious on the day of this accident? Did the car come to a stop all of a sudden (in front of you)? Think about it, and if it has any resemblance to what I just said, it's probably an act of a con artist.
Yes, we've had so many fraudulent cases queuing up these days. So, don't waste your time and report it to the Dept. of insurance.

Did your insurance rep. share their views with you in this regard? I guess it's very important that they believe in what you say and share their beliefs as well.
