After storm, roofer (not a local contractor) came and inspected my property and said there was a lot of damage to house and roof. Insurance company informed me I needed to get another estimate, which I did. I signed nothing with anyone. The insurance company issued check to the local contractor and myself. I will need to come up with an additional $1020.00 for the depreciation and deductible. I don't have that kind of money. And have another estimate from local contractor that can do it cheaper.. Do I have any options here?

Ask the initial contract if he'd be willing to match the other contractors price.
Have the insurance company change the names on the check (reissue).
