I have paid out of pocket for the policy for 10 yrs + on new job x1 month. M.D. placed me on STD and i see surgeon next week. I'm afraid of being fired, do I have to be employed for aflac to pay on this personal policy since it is not through work. Had cervical fusion 5yr ago and having severe neck, back pain numbness in left arm cant work, drive, etc. Live in Harlem Georgia and need an aflac rep to help me with this.

Since AFLAC benefits are "supplemental", they may pay when other insurance won't. Employment or unemployment should not have an effect on coverage.
