I am looking into working for Lambe Company selling insurance. I have no experience, nor do I have my license yet. Any advice? I have recently found myself, a 48 year old, divorced and single mother of 4, we have also just lost our home. I need to find a career where I can support myself and my children. Could selling insurance be the choice for me?

It could, but it's generally a COMMISSION ONLY business, which means if you need something attached to a regular paycheck, this may not be the right time for you to even consider insurance sales.
You are going to have several hundred dollars of expenses just to become a licensed person. Can you afford that, or will it take food off the table? If it will take food off the table today, it's definitely not the right time for you to consider the business and income potential.
Additionally, our business is not as simple as a 9-5 banker's job. You will probably be working irregular hours -- nights and weekends -- meeting with clients at their convenience, not yours. How would this impact your ability to run your household?
Perhaps a job in a bank would be more suitable. Certainly lower pay potential, but the stability you need for the time being.
I don't want to throw cold water on your hopes for a more rewarding career, just need to open you up to the reality of the situation you are facing. If it doesn't cause any significant anxiety, then go for it. I know nothing about the "Lambe Company".
