Good luck with that... did Hartford cause your loss?
That is, you file suit against the driver and possibly the owner... not the insurance company. Very few states allow you to file suit against the insurance company as they did not cause the loss.

Still, some insurance companies fail to see it the same way. Then we hear about it here on occasion.

I suppose I should have figured that. If someone does has evidence that the police got the facts of the matter wrong, then they do have a valid point. The police report for my wife's accident had info copied from her driver's license to the report incorrectly.
Then we hear about it here on occasion.
Wow, I bet that can get complicated! Well, at the very least, it would seem that the police report would be a good start. Or maybe even an account of what happened. Maybe a little more info, original poster?
