:? yesterday at approx 12:15 pm I was coming into my development, and hit an intersection where both sides of me have stop signs, i don't. I look to my left and I assume they're stoppping - big red stop sign. They just keep going. I had seconds to react. in short, they hit me running the stop sign. Were going fast too because after hitting me, they had explorer, high off ground, I have civic, low to ground (95) and their whell went over my hood, so the majority of damage is hood damage. My car starts There's was leaking fluids, and the tire that went over my car hoodNwas bent to side. Officer said it doesnt matter what they say, calm down, they're at fault. It's not just their responsiblity to stop, because theyre insisting they stopped but to then LOOK, both ways, and stay stopped if someone was coming and obviously didn't do that or they would've seen me like I saw them. Having same insurance, progressive, they're running their own investigation. No witnesses, and you know they're gonna try to get out of it- I said cop said that once he writes his report, insurance companies rarely go against an officers decision. She then says I was excluded from policy. I walked down to husband and said did you exclude me from policy. he said not this one. That was 3 years ago when your license was suspended and this time they had me list drivers in home, that's it. Exclusions he had nothing to do with. They told me he excluded me so there may be a problem. I got very upset. In todays age being able to go online and get insurance policies, its scary because you can't be sure what you're getting - well I found out this morning the hard way no matter their fault or not, they may decline fixing my car due to that exclusion he denies. They just never asked if there's been any changes, or he'd have told them, disexclude my wife, she is allowed to drive my vehicle. BUT he also did not know or see I was excluded when the new poicies came out - and new cards, listed him as owner, and insured. So when I showed cop and he said they're at fault, I was at ease thinkin an adjuster would be out to assess the damage and fix asap. she, the insurance company, even though I had least damage, the person who hit me totaled their car that's how fast they were going through that sign, not only did they say they're doing own investigation regardless of police report, but with exclusion may not fix my husband's car. I only took his car to grocery store because my battery in my car was dead, and just switchedvehicles and off I went. He didn't know I had until I came home and told him all that happened. He wasn't worried as I said, he didn't exclude me this time around. Progressive was temporarily stopped because he had no car to insure. Once he got the honda used, he reinsured with progressive and without understanding or asking, they left me excluded. is there anything we can do? They ran a stop sign and our insurance company is gonna try to deny our claim. They said it'd been better off a non-licensed under age driver took keys to car drove w/o permission as they would've fixed car - no exclusions. This seems very unsettling, unfair and I can tell already theyr'e gonna try not to fix my husbands car. And all because I for sure never knew I was ever excluded, and he said only when your license got suspended I excluded you, since lifted, I never told them to continue excluding you. They did that on their own. This newest policy they did not exclude me, they listed licensed and non licensed drivers in our household age 16 plus. that's it. They exclused me if anyone. Can they do that without our permission and then tell me my husband excluded me. he said no, that was 2 years ago when you had to serve a year suspension. I didn't not exclude you when I bought honda 2 months ago. PROMISE. Not that I was aware of anyway. Again, doing policies online is not a effective efficient and things can get one very confused. What do we do here. I was hit dead on by a person who didn't stop at a stop sign, officer to vouch, and an insurance company giving me impression they're gonna fight fixing our car even though other persons fault. In pa the auto is insured. But then you read, unless exclusions - I think they were sneaky period.
What does he do now? He deserve his car fixed as soemoen ran a stop light. HELP -- theres gotta be a loop hole here to throw at the insurance company. I've never known an insurance company of any kind try to get out of paying a claim never!!! :?

There's one part of the story that I don't understand, so I'll just ask:
Why did your husband exclude you when your license was suspended?
Also, did you or your husband get any benefit from this? Was it required by law? What did you do to get your license suspended?
The answers to these questions may help explain what has happened.
