Online Auto Insurance

I have had my identity stolen and now I am very sceptical of shopping online for anything. I am looking to try to save money on my auto insurance by shopping around but can only find companies who want to give me a free online auto insurance quote. People aren't aware that during this online process you must enter your social security number, and all your personal informaion online. That is Crazy!!!Do people really think that this is SAFE way to shop for auto insurance?

While protecting your identity is certainly an important consideration, I would also be concerned about the coverage that you are purchasing. I always recommend dealing with a licensed insurance professional. It is their job to understand your particular situation and to recommend the coverage you need to be properly protected.

Not all insurance policies are the same. Remember, you get what you pay for and without a live person on the other end to ask questions of, you have to hope you completely understand what you have purchased.

The actual policy language will not be provided to you until AFTER you purchase the policy, and at such time you will have no control over changing the language. I would contact a licensed insurance agent and discuss your needs and your concerns with him/her and get your rates from them.

Would you trust your life to an “online” doctor? Then I wouldn’t trust my assets to an online insurance company. Always deal with a live person that can ask you the right questions and get you the right coverage at the right price.
