Im really interested in insurance, but i dont know where to

Im 20 years old, with a high school diploma, and I want to gert into the insurance industry, but i dont know where to start. I have looked into the RIBO and IBAO courses, but should I be working in a firm before taking the classes?

There are several ways to go about this. You might want to work as an administrative/support office staff member before taking on the task if selling insurance. Alternatively you could look for a job in a sort of customer service oriented position for a major insurance company.

Getting license and becoming an "agent" is way to easy. Take some time to learn this industry first.

Don't know if it's true, but I've heard of carriers who'd offer you training while working for them. You could join them as a fresher, and you'll gain all the needed expertise with time.

Of course, it's true. Most insurance companies train their agents in one or more ways . . . classroom, Internet, self-study.

As BNTRS has mentioned, perhaps starting out in an administrative role may be the best first step for you.
