Is it possible to have a second job selling another product,

My income supports my family and it is not what I'd like it to be. Selling security has been rewarding but it does not offer renewals even though I am selling contracts that automatically renew. This is very frustrating considering customers that are signed up sometimes stay for decades.

Is it possible to start working as a insurance representative and running few security appointments to help ends meet while I build my customer base in the insurance business?

The only thing that would prevent you from doing so is your contract with the insurance company as its agent. If you are a "captive" agent, you have to abide by their contract. If it says "NO OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT", then the answer is no. If it says nothing about outside employment (as most contracts), then you can probably do whatever you want as long as it is lawful.
