I have a couple of questions regarding a claim under the uninsured motorist provision of our AmFam auto policy.
So my boyfriend was run over by an uninsured motorist in jan of 09. sustained a fractured shoulder, torn rotator cuff, sundry cuts and bruises.
One doctor recommended shoulder surgery. Boyfriend declined. Still has residual pain, but has not had any treatment for the condition in over a year.
AmFam adjustor has spent the better part of 2 years gathering the medical records and now has made an offer under 10K.
The policy maximum is $100,000.
We have decided to go to arbitration, but have just realised we must notify them before the 2 year anniversary of the accident, which is early next month.
(amfam adjustor told me there was no deadline for filing suit/going to arbitration....I just consulted the policy and it says different. Feel I was misled there.)
SO. questions: how do i find a good lawyer in IL?
and what % of any settlement would they be entitled to? and does anyone think we havea case on the basis of these sketchy details.?

It seems you've come across a policy clause which states that you need to file a suit within 2 years from the date of an accident. You need to be aware of the insurance laws in your state (IL). You should also remember that they would charge around 33% of the settlement offer.
