had to file a new claim for my gutters falling off my roof. in may a tree did extensive damage and insurance paid for a new roof. they did not mention the gutters, but mentioned the drip edge damage. can they reopen the case or must i file a new claim for the gutters falling off the roof, taking wood with it?

Original damage claims must generally be settled within 180 days unless there are extenuating circumstances (delays imposed by building & safety dept, weather delays, disruptions in materials availability, etc).

Apparently this is a second loss, not an extension of the original damage. A new claim is in order, and will be subject to a new deductible.
