A pedestrian recently hit my car. What can happen now?

A pedestrian recently hit my car. Never saw the man until he hit the side of my car. He cameout form in between cars on the opposite side of a 2 way street and simply ran through trafic without looking both ways. i was told by the EMS that we was fine and that apparently he had been drinking alcohol. The police took down all the information and told me to go home becasue he was fine. What can happen to me now?
