My Mother was in a car accident in Nov 2009 in massachusetts. It was a case of a family member on the same insurance was the driver it was only a single car accident. My question is she settled with the insurance company for her injurys and got a large settlement. Can the health insurance come after her for the money she was awarded. Your help in this matter would be appreciated.

Depends on the state laws as some states allow double dipping (basically don't allow the health carrier to recover what they paid) but this is not typical. Usually (not always) the health carrier could request payment back.
How ever, even if they can they may not. I don't know why but health carriers are just not very aggressive when it comes to recovery. Also, if they do seek recovery your mother could probably negotiate their demand down. That is, if they want the entire $10,000 back (whatever it is) she could offer to pay $7,000. Usually the health carrier will take what they can get.
