she fell asleep. our van caught fire and my husband was trapped in...truck drivers were able to get him out. he had to have major surgery...11 screws/2plates in his shoulder...broken arm/wrist...cracked elbow with 20+ stitches...broken foot...lots of cuts and small burns...14 stitches in head. he is still under the care of an orthopedic specialist....PT 3x/wk. He will have a permanent disability...will not regain full use of his arm. I had no serious injuries...bruised from my neck to my toes. my knees received the worse injury...still have problems with swelling/pain. Medical bills exceed $75,000. what would be a reasonable settlement?

I think you first need to find out if the person's policy limits are even high enough to address your loss. If not, you then also need to look at your own policy and see if you have Under Insured Motorist Bodily Injury coverage.

Some adjusters are protective of this info but many will tell you or at least tell you if they might be an issue. Just call yourself and ask if the limits might be an issue. Ask if they would not mind telling you what the limits are as you might have a UIMBI. claim. Also, ask your carrier if you have UIMBI.
