I am the stepfather of a new teenage driver in Florida. The grandfather is providing a vehicle under his llc corp + unknown insurance coverage.
My wife has signed for the 16 yr olds drivers license as his only surviving parent. Could she of I be held liable in the event of an accident & what type of insurance shoud we carry to cover liability.

Has "grandfather" had his mental health checked recently? Exposing his LLC to a teenage driver? Probably not going to be covered under a commercial auto policy if it's not principally for business use.
Normally, parents cover their teenage drivers as additional insureds under their own personal auto policies, allowing them to drive any of the household vehicles, or one of their own. Grandfather's interference could really expose all of you and your wealth to third-party claims.
Better have a legal expert sort this one out. It's beyond the scope of responsibility of insurance agents and brokers.
