Their main reason was because my daughter financed the car back in 2007. In 2009 i registered and insured the vehicle for my personal use while my daughter went off to college. Until the day my car was stolen i had no knowledge that the title had to be in my name as well. I feel im being cheated because they were collecting my premium all this time, and now something tragic happens they dont want to take resphonsibility. Please give me some legal advice.

was the insurance policy in your name?
most auto policies state insurable interest has to exist at the time of loss. You may have to document how you have insurable interest in the car. If your name is on the policy and the vehicle is registered in your name, I don't see the problem. I would call the dept of insurance in your state and inquire more if this is the only issue.
I must say, when it comes to a theft claim, there is much more to be investigated. There appears to me more going on w/ your situation for them to deny the claim. (you stated the "main reason"). What other reasons have they given you? We would need much more details to help with your specific claim question.
