CAN YOU BECOME A LICENSED P&C AGENT WITH A FELONY?

I'm sorry to say, but i'ts doubtful. It's hard enough with good credit and experience to get solid and competitive companies. you may can get the license, but you'll have a very hard time getting appointed with a company. it may depend on what the felony was for... if theft or violent crimes, or anything that would question your ability to handle company's money or safety of customers, you won't get an appointment. If you can get appointed with an insurance company you cant sell insurance products.

If I may ask, what was the felony? What line of insurance or direction are you looking into?

Although not one of the felonies described in 18 USC 1033 that would prevent you from being employed in the financial services industry, any felony conviction within the past 5 years will probably prevent you from being licensed.

Felony convictions are subject to review by your state's insurance commissioner/superintendent/administrator.

Well?

Sorry that no one was available to answer your question within one to five minutes of its posting. We all have other things to do from time to time and do not just sit here waiting to answer people's questions 24-hours-a-day.
