If I am looking to start an agency with a insurance company

I am licensed however I have not been trained in the insurance industry. I currently have a tax office and I would like to expand the office. Which company do yo suggest allstate/nationwide/farmers....... I have tried to be independent I have found that I don't get alot of support/help. Please advise

It's always better to work as a captive agent for a couple of years. This way you'd be able to generate your own book of business. Thereafter, you may choose to go independent.

Thank you for the advice. I have a meeting set up with both Nationwide and Farmers and I look at those two. Have you have any questions that you think would be good for a rookie to ask before starting this game please, please let me know!

Yes, it's always a two-way street. You must also have the opportunity to know more about the scope of growth. Ask more about the following..

* A detailed account of your new responsibilities
* If you'll be able to go through a training program
* Their hiring process
* Their growth plans
