my husband and i have been with State Farm for years, when we got married they combined both policies on one bill, when my husbands license was suspended they terminated both policies, can they do that if the policies on the vehicles are different and it was an issue that had nothing to do with myself or my vehicle?

Did they non-renew the policies? If so, yes... no carrier is obligated to issue a policy. Have you spoken to your agent? I'm betting he/she can correct this issue.

State Farm requires that all drivers that reside in the household be listed on the insurance contract as an insured driver. In just about every case, "one bad driver spoils the whole bunch." Each driver must meet State Farm's guidelines or it will "ruin" the entire household.

Since your husband has had his license suspended (no reason for this given), it will affect the entire household. In terms of calling your agent, State Farm has multiple "tiers" for auto insurance. These tiers are essentially the differences people have in terms of driving records, credit, losses and other things that determine rates. It may be that State Farm would be willing to "split" the household, tier-wise, to keep giving you the multi-car discount. The suspension did a number on all of the insured drivers in the household.

That's certainly a ray of hope!
What do we actually need to do in order to split it?

Hopefully, your agent should have a clue on this one... Call him/her and ask!

Yes...all of us would suggest that you call on your agent first.
