My husband works for an employer that offers insurance to the workers and their spouses. He is age 62. I am 59 and disabled, therefore eligible for Medicare Part B as of January 1, 2010. I did not sign up for Medicare Part B as Medicare told me I could keep my husband's insurance coverage. Now husband's insurance is denying claims saying that I should have enrolled in Medicare part B when first offered and that Medicare would have been primary all last year. Is this correct?

It seems your husband's insurance was a secondary coverage. A secondary insurance will cover you as per your primary policy.
