My wife had a hystorectomy with complications(severed ureter). The insurance company was part of my wifes employer. She met her deductable allready and had the proceedure done. Her stay at the hospital was extended due to the complications. After the follow up visit, the insurance company sent back the claim of the hospitals and said she was no longer covered. The bill has been passed to us in the area of $90k+. We have learned that the company may be filing for bankruptcy, and several other employees have been rejected as well. Do we have any rights to have them pay the bill they were supposed to?

I'd be interested to know since how long her coverage stands canceled. Were your wife and the other employees informed of the insurers diminishing financial strength?
