we own a smaller construction company; couple years ago we switched agents due to the previous agent didnt have to proper coverage for our company; found it out the hard way when we went to make a claim.. we were shafted out of rounghly $5000 cuz of this claim. so we switched agents. I voiced my issues to this agent who said they woul get us the proper coverage. fine everything was good.. we eneded up making some claims.. that was fine.. then the economy really started going to crap, we didnt always have the money to make the monthly payments on the insurance, so it got canceled on us.. fine whatever.. so our agent found us another ins company who was wiling to take us at a VERY high rate for bout a year, agent said in a year he"d look at out policy and switch it to another one, I first had to call him to remind him to do it, now one of pieces of equipment just got damaged ($100,000 equipment) and I call the agent to tell them i need to make a claim, they call me back stating we only have auto and libility, my agent didnt switch the previous policy over to any of the new ins companies. My question is what can I do about this? Can I go after my agent fpr not properly taking care of what he was suppose to do? This claim will cost us ALOT of money plus possibly the job we were working on due to needing to rent another piece of equipment that we have to fork out the money for. Any ideas or suggestions?
