To whom it may concern,
I need help...My car's transmission went out, & I need to get to work. My question is "How do I know if i'm covered for car rental reimbursement before I try renting a car? I'm already paying enough for repairs, so I need help??? Mike G.

Well, you need to ask this question to your insurer. You may also find a clue if you go through your policy paper work. However, while inquiring about it, make sure for how long your carrier will cover a rental car if at all they're gonna cover it.

Rental reimbursement on car insurance does not pay for the cost of a rental car you need to rent because your car has had a mechanical break down.
If you have rental reimbursement on your car insurance, it pays for rental car if your car is out of service due to a covered claim.
However, if you have comprehensive and collision coverage on your auto insurance, coverage may extend to the rental car, so you do not have to pay for the collision damage waiver the rental car company tries to sell you. Call your company or agent to confirm coverage.

Ask your insurer about this matter if you don’t know if you’re covered for rental reimbursement, if you have comprehensive and collision coverage on your auto insurance, coverage may extend to the rental car, so you do not have to pay for the collision damage waiver the rental car company tries to sell you.
