thinking about to go back to work.

I've been on SDI State for 10 months. I've been thinking about to go back to work.I lost my job but Im willing to look for a new one My doctor doesnt think Im ready.I guess my question is if the doctor sign my release to go back to work can I apply to unumployment? What if the doctor is right and Im not ready to go back to work. Can I go back on disability during the time Im looking for work? Im in California

If you're still disabled, you can apply for disability benefits. But be very clear about one thing - unemployment benefits are offered when you have been laid-off and perhaps not when you've quit.
