I currently applied for my certificate for insurance service representative with TDI. Now my sponsor or producer with the agency i am currently with said if we decide to work elswhere, he would cancel our license. We did pay for our fingerprinting and notary. Can he do this?

Your employer cannot "cancel" your license. I think what he was referring to in terms of you changing jobs or leaving this employer is that he would terminate your "appointment" with that insurer. That simply means that you will no longer be able to write insurance for that insurer and it does NOT "cancel" your license.

Most states DO require that you have to have at least one appointment in order to keep your license in effect, but the employer cannot unilaterally "cancel" your license.

Man... where do these things come from? Good questions, OP... wish your company knew the difference here! :shock:
