hi - our neighbors are amish and were returning home one nig

home 2 weeks ago and were hit in their buggy by a hit and run pick up truck. they were injured but not seriously. the buggy is badly damaged. their horse was hit as well and panic sticken he ran down the street crashing into another neighbor's van. it is totaled and the horse had to be shot on the spot. the driver was captured several days later - he has no license or insurance and had borrowed a friend's truck. the owner of the truck has insurance,but they claim they bear no responsibility since the owner was not driving. they will not even speak to them and have washed their hands of the matter. we have a totaled van,buggy,dead horse,and hospital bills! where can they go from here??? state troopers report shows the driver responsible for both accidents. thanks,carol
