Is there a deadline for filing an act of God insurance claim

Hail storm did some damage to my parents' home a few months ago, however they speak limited English and did not know to file a claim. I am wondering if I can still file a claim or whether there is a time frame for claims.

The time limit is the Statue of Limitation for a contract or the terms of the policy if longer. Probably 4 or 6 years. The insurance policy states that the claim needs to be reported as soon as possible. It also states that the insured must take reasonable actions to prevent further damages.

HI, TCOPE!!! Nice to see you!! :D You stated that the SOL can be 4-6 years. Have people actually waited THAT long to file claims?

I can't say that I recall specifically seeing 4 or 6 years but I have no doubt I've seen 1st party claims reported around 2 years after the date of loss.
