My 1992 BMW was totalled in an accident before i bought it and has never been repaired. it is driveable and does not have a salvaged title. I was recently hit by a car while mine was parked and i took it in for an estiamte and they told me my car was totalled. What will the person who hit me's insurance pay me?

They should pay you for the value of the vehicle prior to it being damaged in this accident. If they take the value and deduct something for the prior damage then I'd consider that correct. Of course they may just pay you the value if they don't realize the prior damage.

I would like to know (just very curious, I suppose)..why would you buy a car that you knew was totalled i an accident? If the car would have furthur problems, those repairs, etc, would be on you. If you had an accident in it,how would you prove what damages were then and now? (Just 'thinking outloud',I suppose).

I can't speak for the OP but but it could be a late model vehicle with just some hail damage or a dent in the 1/4 panel.
