If my claims dept advised me that my lienholder does not have to endorse my check in order for me to cash it do I still have to let the lienholder sign it?

If the lien holders name is on the check then the lien holder needs to endorse it before it can legally be cashed.

The insurance policy protects the owner’s interest in the vehicle. If the vehicle is not paid off then the lien holder is technically the owner of the vehicle. Therefore if their name appears on the check, along with yours, you will both need to endorse the check.
