My truck Totaled fresh paint and engine 4 weeks before

I was in accident where my truck was totaled, The engine was rebuilt and the truck completely painted less than a month before the accident, but the adjuster will not add any price to the fair value, I gave them all the receipts for the work. I was not at fault for the accident. This is my Insurance company, but the guy that hit me has insurance also, would I be better off going to his insurance?

Why was the engine rebuilt? Because it needed to be? As such doing so _maintains_ the value... it does not increase it. The amount they are offer is for a vehicle in good running order which is what rebuilding the engine leaves.

Would someone pay more for a vehicle that was just painted? Paint is paint. Perhaps they would. You can certainly argue this fact. You could also argue that a person would pay more for a freshly rebuilt engine. If the argument is done well they might pay more. I can see your case being good as it was a very short time before the accident that this work was done. But at the end of the day I think it might be difficult to get them to move.

I'd certainly have the other carrier determine what they would pay on the claim and then you can choose the higher of the two amounts.
