Hi all,
Are there any companies/brokerages that rate policies by driving experience and not years of continuous coverage? I've been licensed over 5 years but had a 3-month lapse in insurance in the last year.
I have no points (no citations or moving violations) and believe I would fall into a low risk category if it were not for the lapse in coverage. The companies with whom I spoke (AAA, Travelers) did not have competitive pricing and rated by continuous coverage.

Continuous coverage is always a concern of the company. You will not find a company in any state which will not consider a lapse in continuous coverage. It is not a "primary" underwriting factor, but it can result in a higher initial premium.
