My shower grout broke at the bottom lip,I now have mold!

The shower has a short lip at the very bottom where you enter the shower. the grout broke out there. My housemate just moved out and I discovered mold in his bedroom wall close to the floor on the other side of the shower.
The leak from the shower has made mold.
Should I report this to my Allstate insurance co? I have a 1,000 deductable. But I am afraid they won't cover it, and that they will hold the report against me. On the other hand, maybe they WILL cover it---Does anyone know or have any advice? Many thanks,

the policy covers sudden and accidental losses. This is not sudden, it's a maintenance issue. Also, most policies are going to exclude coverage for mold.

You may want to look over your policy to see what coverage it might provide. You could also ask your agent without filing a claim.
