Can you recieve unemployment while you are on maternity leave for 2 months?

NO. You would apply for disability benefits, if available. You only qualify for unemployment insurance benefits if you are ABLE TO WORK AND ACTIVELY SEEKING WORK. On maternity leave, you would not be either of those.

You cannot receive unemployment while maternity leave. You are technically not unemployed; you are on leave from a job. Also, you do not meet the qualifications for unemployment assistance, you must be able to work and actively seeking work. On maternity leave you would be doing neither. It is up to your company and your insurance plan if you will be able to claim disability during maternity leave.
