If passengers of a bus are injured in an accident, is PIP the only recourse or can they make a BI claim against the bus owner?

Following the Federal and State guidelines, the passengers of a bus accident may be able to file a personal injury compensation claim against the bus company or the owner of the bus.

If you are injured as a passenger or even as a pedestrian in a bus accident, it’s your legal right to claim for compensation.

The claim can be against a person or an organization, depending on who was responsible for the accident.

For example – if the accident occurs because of the negligence of the bus driver, your claim would be against the bus company. Whereas, if the accident was due to some other vehicle’s fault then the claim would be made against the owner of that vehicle.

If you suffer any kind of personal loss in the bus accident, you may also be entitled to make a ‘No win No cost claim’. The losses may include medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, disfigurement, emotional distress etc.
